Welcome to The Nicholist! My weekly list of pop culture where I gush on everything that’s got me obsessed.

Other Monologues
I wrote a book! Kinda. Other Monologues (out now) is a collection of over a dozen monologues from all my plays, including The Bottoming Process and the TikTok fave Young Dumb Broke High School Kids.
I started Other Monologues because I wanted to give the weirdos who love camp, abrasive comedy, bold language, and adventurous theatre monologues they could use to audition with and perform. And I worked hard to make it a reality because of young actors like Josie, who message me weekly looking for plays that represent them and make them feel seen.
Other Monologues is published by Astringent Press—an independent qBpoc press in Kansas City—who awarded me their inaugural Astringent Award to turn this idea for a book into a reality.

Evan Ross Katz, you are very famous to me. I’m an avid listener of Shut Up Evan and have read—and own two copies of—Into Every Generation a Slayer Is Born: How Buffy Staked Our Hearts.
If you're seeing this, thanks for being here! And in your honor, in the style of a celebrity following you on Instagram, here's a fan-girl post dedicated to you where I say:
Libby
As essential to my morning routine as coffee or watching The View is listening to an audiobook from when I wake up to when I leave my house. I imagine it's for the same reasons people listen to A.M. radio or Ryan Seacrest on their drives into their nine-to-fives. Something about an early chitter chatter just gives "start of the day" vibes.
As a book influencer (find my secret bookstagram for a prize), I mostly listen to ALCs gifted to me monthly by Libro.fm—and they're primarily books that wouldn't be my first choice. As a person with attention deficit disorder, I only listen to celebrity memoirs—because my brain isn't strong enough to listen to fiction and wash my face simultaneously. But with Libby, I listen to only first choices, baby! Libby is pretty much bootleg Audible. You connect your library card to the app, and voilà, you get audiobooks and e-books for free. This week alone, I've listened to memoirs by Alaska Thunderfuck 5000, Kelly Osbourne, and I am moving on to Joan Rivers next. Get into it, nerds!
KenTheMan — "I Love a Freak"
If you're in need of a funny freaky anthem of the week, fuck with this!
“Cause I'm a rich ho, thick ho
Bounce that ass 'til that dick 'bout to explode
If he broke, hell no
Ain't got no money, might as well fuck a dildo”
