My truest passion in life is writing holiday parody music. It must be holiday. It must be parody. And many people may not think so, but I consider it music. Most years during the holidays I stealthy, like Santa on Christmas Eve, drop a holiday single with my friend Mara De La Rosa under the pseudonym Becky and Baldwin.1
The songs are part camp, part cringe, and unabashedly Christmas. Here are our greatest hits…
“Ho Ho Ho”
In “Ho Ho Ho,” we actually mean “Hoe Hoe Hoe.” This folky holiday ballad2 is about wanting a kiss on Christmas but being too ugly to get one.
“Naughty List Freestyle”
Fuck the Nice List, we prefer to be naughty. “Naughty List Freestyle” is a talk-your-shit ode to holiday horniness.
Happy/Sad Christmas
As clinically depressed musicians we had to drop a seasonal depression anthem—and nothing says depressed like mid-tempo melodic3 rap.
Does 2023 need a new Becky and Baldwin holiday jam? Comment below.
Formerly known as “Black Michelle Williams” (she is the Queen of Bridges—iykyk). The name is inspired by being white—which neither of us are. Becky as in “with the good hair” and Baldwin referencing the slang for “hot guy” used in the movie Clueless.
Listen closely and you'll hear that I gave myself the high harmony, because even though I’m the boy of the group, I’m the self-assigned Beyoncé.
Listen to the end for my one-man operatic choir.
Yes, drop the new hits!
